Scott M. Baker asked me if I would like to participate in The Next Big Thing, a blog tag ring talking about our next WIPs. I agreed, and then promptly got mired in other things. So, without further ado, HERE is my TNBT post. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy entertaining myself :-) ( you can find Scott's answers to these questions by clicking on his name above.)
What is the working title of your next book?
Fuck This Book. Yes, really. That's the working title.
Where did the idea come from for the book?
I live in a county with a military installation, a chemical plant, a logging/paper mill and a trauma hospital. I also work with the local branch of emergency management. Book scenarios abound. I'm pretty sure THIS is where the Zombie Apocalypse is going to start.
What genre does your book fall under?
I'm not really sure, to tell you the truth. It has a bit of everything, but I suppose first and foremost it would be science fiction.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Alan Rickman, Bruce Cambell, Robert Downey Jr, and Kat Dennings
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
A small town breaks loose in Hell.
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
At the moment, I'm not sure. I may self- publish since I have a strong editing team.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
8 years. Most of that time was spent world building.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
I certainly wouldnt want to write a story I've already read, So while Im sure others may find a comparison to other works, I don't think I can.
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
I was in a meeting with a homeland security team when the idea occured to me.
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
This story has a bit of everything; mystery, erotica, action and adventure, and even a touch of romance. There is a little something for everyone in this story.
